In a blink

I know, I know... this blog has seen some depressing links lately between local abuse cases, flooding, and our friends' fire. But this gave me chills.

Mr. Daddy and I were watching the late news last night when a clip came on saying that a young boy had been seriously injured while watching a Monster Truck show that is just north of us.

The story is saddening, alarming, and left me with a mix of grief and anger.

I watched in horror as they described the scene of a mother holding her little boy who was profusely bleeding from a head wound. Apparently some parts flew off a truck and over the safety barrier and struck the boy and another man.

They had difficulty getting medical assistance and the 6-year old did not make it.

I made no attempt to hide my tears as we watched the news. I was grieving for these families and praying.

Mr. Daddy was silent and had a strange look on his face.

Then he turned to face me and quietly said that his son had called him up the day before and wanted to take Itty Bit and Cutie Left to the Monster Truck show.

I got goosebumps hearing this and had a hard time catching a breath.

We are not promised Tomorrow. When I forget, friends, please remind me.

I think we all need that reminder...Everyday is a gift. We need to do the best we can with them. That is horrible.
