Not Me Monday!

It’s Not Me Monday again!

Looks like MckMama may be linking up on her site today?!?! Please click on Stellan’s pic in the sidebar for the latest updates. Still praying for a miracle for his heart.

Come join for some free therapy!

After an insane week, and another one looming that promises to be worse... I am not simply commiting my Not Me's to photo captions :) That would be the easy way out, right? And you guys are totally sick of Easter photos by now, eh?

It was not me who thought it would be fun to dye eggs with a 2-year-old.

Cuz if the toddler isn’t gentle enough with a
flat screen tv, what makes me think he’d be gentle with a carefully blown empty egg (or thirty)?

Not me who didn’t realize it would take FOREVER for the silly dyes to dissolve.

Nor that they would somehow seem appetizing to Itty Bit. After several replays of me shrieking, “NO! Don’t drink that!”, Mr. Daddy did not helpfully wander into the kitchen with a camera, but refuse to partake of the festivities. And no, I am not showing y'all the lovely photo he captured of my rear end. You can thank me later.

Not Itty Bit who hasn't quite gotten the hang of Easter Egg Hunts yet. After repeatedly picking up, then putting back eggs, I think he resorted to people watching.

And no concern at all about his impending facepainting...

(I always joke that my kid has eyebrows over his eyebrows. This is never more evident then when he is worried. Go back and look... you'll see what I mean :)
After scoring Grandma as his makeup artist, Itty Bit didn't then go into the "playing possum" zone. Whereas he would not have held his breath, completely frozen every muscle in his body, and remained unnervingly still while his eyes darted everywhere like a cornered animal. Of course this wasn't totally funny to the adults.

It did not help that poor May-May was demonstrating copious amounts of concern for the wellbeing of his precious chin that was quickly becoming bunny teeth.
He is not just like his mama. Cotton candy does not make all well in the world.

Heading to Grandma's Easter Egg Hunt did not reveal this sight.
I am not related to these basketcases.

Itty Bit does not frequently look as if he has burns on his face. This is not because his Grandma cannot stop planting kisses on his cute little head.

(umm, yeah... still not getting the hang of KEEPING the eggs you find)

Then it was not time for the annual craziness.

And somehow... Itty Bit is still not getting this???

So… go check out what everyone else didn’t do this week!

Hey y’all – come back tomorrow for this week’s True Story Tuesday – where we link to stories that actually happened… ya know, in real life. Join in – we’d love to hear the unedited version of a Not Me episode!

Happy Easter to you again. I love all of the Easter Pix. So much color and fun ")

I love the eyebrows over the eyebrows. Yep, I can totally see it!

I should go to bed, thankfully, I am feeling a bit better this evening. The poor little Princess, not so much.

Good night!

Have a great week. I am looking forward to true story Tuesday ")

I totally LOVE that you do the blown out eggs! That is the neatest thing I have EVER seen! (it helps helps the adoration to know I've tried blowing out eggs after your blog, and I still can't do it. I get frustrated after I blow my eardrums out and then just say to-heck-with-it, and crack the darn things....) But this tradition just CRACKS me up! I never tire of seeing poor people having eggs smashed over their heads. Makes me chuckle EVERY time!

I love that your hubby comments on your blog! I'm glad we have no egg smashing tradition in my married family. i don't think they could be trusted with the concept of an "empty" egg!

Okay, time to thank you for the out-loud laughing that I just couldn't stop when I saw the eyebrows on top of eyebrows! That's what I love about Itty Bit: he makes me laugh out loud. And your stories about him make me laugh out loud. It's why I keep coming back. What a deliciously funny family!

Stunt Man smashed the eggs together cracking them before we got a chance to color ours...that was fun.
Love the basketcase picture. Too funny. I have always said that there is never a dull moment in your family:) THat is a good thing!

I love your family! What fun you all have. :)

I wouldn't have noticed Itty Bit's eyebrows over eyebrows unless you pointed it out. Now that you have, it's funny!

He's still stinking cute! And I loved how you mentioned that he tried to drink the dye. We colored eggs with my two-year-old nephew and he desperately wanted to drink it too! ;)

Oh good grief... HOW can you have so much fun? It's NOT FAIR!! Really.. blown out eggs? And egg-smashing relatives? And to top it off, a child with eyebrows a deux on each side? (botox WILL take care of that, but why? He is so stinkin' cute!). And then, of course, there's Mr. Daddy. Would I say anything bad about that dear man? No.. not ME! (other than a certain fixation he seems to have with certain parts of your.. oh, never MIND!!!)
I have to get to sleep... but just had to comment, cause I love your "not me's"! Have a great night... hugs......

Hopefully by next year Tristan will have it all figured out. Kailan had an egg land on the floor, too, so I think it is just part of the process. Some egg carnage is bound to happen!

Oh, and I read on the back of the dye package that it is non-toxic if drank. Apparently it happens often LOL!

Love the shots of Tristan in all the festivities, too. He is so cute in that little hat. :)

What a fun post. I'm loving the "non-related" basket heads...and your too cute son.

Rachel, listen very carefully to the advice about to give you because you will have ALL the money you need to build your new house in no time flat~~

W R I T E.....A.....B O O K ! !You are such a talented story teller, even of real life events, that with very little effort (just writing down what happens day by day!) you could publish a side-splitter of a best selling book and slap that dream house up quicker than it took Itty Bit to wreck the Gap AND Best Buy. Seriously!

And should you decide to take the advice of your "agent" (that would be ME, though I know nothing about "the business") I expect to get an advance copy before they hit the shelves at Barnes & Noble. Deal? ;-)

W.W. finally got Easter this year. Although the 2 and half year old was far more interested in coloring eggs than the 3 and half year old. And you're brave to do blown eggs. I wasn't planning to try that until he'd been in school for a little while.

Although we had to explain that the easter bunny is not related to santa claus. ;)
