As I sit typing with fingers stained in brilliant colors,
I am reminded again of the reason we celebrate.

I have been overwhelmed with the number of online friends who have struggled with sicknesses and deaths in their families recently. People that I have felt close to, and prayed for. Parents that I have cried with as their children face pain and sometimes the ultimate separation.

Have you ever really thought about it?

That a man spent three days dead. Sealed in rock, wrapped in burial cloths.
Then defeated - simply and soundly - the greatest enemy we have.
Which actually wasn't death. It was our sin.
The ability of our sin to lead to an enternity separated from His vast love for us.
Done. Powerless. Final
It amazes me. This triumph over death.
To put it in today's perspective for me...
Three days ago, a sweet 3-year old that I've been praying for - Armstrong,
ran and shouted and played for the first time in a long while... in Heaven.
Three days ago.
What would I do if Armstrong suddenly "woke up"?
Amazing to think that a man did that 2000 years ago. And he did it out of love.
So I'm rejoicing. Enjoying my Easter as a gift from a Heavenly Father who was willing to give everything to give me a chance to choose my eternity.
And... you know I couldn't resist showing some of that "rejoicing", right?
Here's a few flashbacks of the whole blown egg tradition where we have an egg hunt, then smash the shells on eachother's heads. Poor unsuspecting victims...

Itty Bit and May-May with Ju

Mr. Daddy BEFORE

Mr. Daddy AFTER

(yeah, he's a bit old for a bottle, ya think?)

But never, ever, EVER fall asleep on the couch when the Easter Egg Hunt gets rained out.

(don't feel too sorry... my uncle actually slept through the whole thing)

Thanks for the reminder on why we celebrate. :) That is the hard thing with kids. You want them to experience the fun and magic of teh Easter Bunny, but you also want them to know the REAL REASON why we are celebrating.

Love the pictures of the Easter egg hunt. Especially that last one LOL! Are you doing the blown eggs again this year?

Have a wonderful Easter!
