Of Course...

With today being the grand picture day

*Itty Bit chose to run headlong into a random piece of furniture - creating an obscene goose-egg on his forehead that has turned into a lovely shade of indigo.

*Itty Bit desperately needed a haircut.  But the shaggy do was kinda covering the goose-egg… putting momma into a quandary of epic proportions: cut the mess, or show off the “oh my gosh what did he do to his head” injury?

*Cuz you’re dying to know, he got the haircut and momma is resigned to the fact that the pictures will be (ahem) “real life”.

*We are planning some special ways to include Gracie in the photos.  I have been repeatedly bawling my eyes out about this.  Waterproof mascara, waterproof mascara.

*Momma didn’t make it to the tanning salon or squeeze in time to cover up that gray.  Nor did she lose the planned 14 pounds (SHOCKER, I know).  Photoshop is going to be this pasty and chubby woman’s best friend.

*Momma needs to curl her hair (remember how crazy the lake wind gets?) and pray for NO RAIN.

*Momma also brilliantly planned to have us all wearing coordinating colors – completely forgetting that her child has absolutely NOTHING in that color.   Whaaa?

Excuse me… we are heading to the store!

(and keep guessing, I’m really excited to be working with this local photog!)

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one to feel 'left footed' when it comes to being natural for the camera.

One Christmas, we sent all the out takes as well as the real picky .... the ones with the wriggly kids, the out of sorts pappa revealing too much while feeding the baby mumma.

It just wouldn't be your family if all went according to plan!! It has to be comical!

We did Buster's 2 year pics at Olan Mills today (first time trying them). UGH. That's all I can say.

So basically, I feel your pain. I can't wait to see the pics!!

I know they will be great. Better post them when you get them back and who is the local photographer? Who who?

Oh. just oh. I'm so sorry. Seriously, right before Bug Hunter's K4 "cap and gown" photo, we were throwing the Frisbee back and forth and I nailed him right in the eye. Yep, HUGE shiner, courtesy of Mom. And I'll never live it down, cause it's right there in a great big ol' "Hallmark moment" type photo. Never fails....

Good luck with the photos....We don't even do Christmas family photos...the attempt to do so never seems to work out.

LOL, my closest friend has had to cancel her photo sessions 4 times already due to her child injuring herself, a rash, and a really bad experiment with her new sissors, lol! I think she just may be giving up herself too!

I'm thinking in spite of everything your picture is going to turn out beautifully! We're planning on taking ours this week.

We did our family photos yesterday. It is SO hard to get 6 of us looking right at the same time! My son always whacks his head right before pictures! I actually enjoy looking back and remembering his injuries!

Yikes, here's hoping all goes well!! We are still working up the nerve to schedule a family picture appt... the last one was 5 yrs ago when I was still pg with Bitty so clearly we are due for one, but it is *such* an ordeal for the boys, not to mention dh. Can't wait to see your pics :)
