SOOC - Two Years

ducky[5]

Two

Years.

Has it really been that long?

Several of you bloggy friends have been with us that long – and kindly let me talk through my feelings time and again.

Now I’m just grateful.  50-miles-an-hour could have ended so differently.

Someone is in prison, hopefully starting her new sober life.

A little boy is getting ready to turn 4-years old – clueless at how close he was to being on the other side of that crushed door.

And a mother holds him close and thanks God that he woke up with a cough.

Today, our blog title rings especially true.

Please join Melody for SOOC Saturday, and start your day with bit of gratefulness too.

Slurping Life

Oh, wow! I just finished reading what you wrote back then...can't believe her statement to the judge. Thank goodness he was sick! How scary and frightening. My car is in the shop right now because someone wasn't paying attention and hit me from behind and it was pushed into another vehicle. Fortunately, my kiddos weren't with me either. I didn't have much damage compared to yours! Two years can be just a blink of an eye...

I can't believe it has been that long. I don't think i have been along for the ride the entire 2 years, but for a while. Thank God for the wonderous miracles of little coughs. He is always watching out for us. Hope all is well your way! Sorry for the long whiny email! It had been a bad day, but no more excuses, you aren't my dumping ground, you are my FRIEND and I care for you and am glad this 2 year anniversary didn't have a worse ending. Take care my friend.

Oh, my goodness, this gives me chills. I can't believe how brave you were to make that incredibly well written statement in court. What courage and poise you displayed!!

I'm so glad that you and your son are OK, and I sincerely hope this woman is now sober. Thank you for sharing this.

2 years ago, God sent His biggest and baddest angels to protect you. To take what Satan intended for heartache and despair, and transform into a story for His glory. There is no doubt in my mind that the woman who his you was affected by your statement in court that day. Praying that she meets the ONLY addiction worth having - the one with her Father. So grateful for you & your family.

The things you said in court were so brilliant and so beautiful, I had tears rolling down my face. Gladder than I can say that nobody was badly hurt, and ESPECIALLY that your amazingly adorable little boy was not involved!

I just finished reading back through all the posts about your accident, and I'm shaking. I can't imagine...just can't imagine...

You hate for your child to ever be sick, but thank God he woke with a cough that day.

I hope the other driver is able to turn her life around. Your statement in court was absolutely amazing, and I hope and pray it reached her.

I need to go hug my little guy now...and not let go until he tries to squirm away!

Dear me... I remember your one year post, so I've been with you about that long. And I think I would have to throw up everytime I looked at that pic if I were you, just from reliving the terror. And then I'd fall on my knees (as I know you have a million times) to thank God for His supernatural protection. Cause that picture truly does depict a miracle, and I am so glad that it does....

I read this on Google Reader and forgot to come here and comment. I am so thankful that this is in your past and you have a beautiful boy to raise.

I followed your link and read up on what you said and I had tears running down my face. Such grace. That was what "reached" her, I believe. I hope she turns her life around.

I had no idea. I just finished reading the previous posts and am in tears. I can't even imagine the amount of emotions you have been through. Praise God that your little one was not with you and that everyone made it through that terrible day. Thank you for sharing your story with us...

Wow, time sure flies! Again, seeing your beat up car is very sobering that you came out on the other side. So thankful that your little guy wasn't in there that day, too. This morning I was sure I was going to see an accident with two cars not paying attention to each other. AT the last minute one did and averted it. It really only takes a second. Of course alcohol impairment is a factor, too. ;(

It's amazing how accidents can feel just like yesterday. Glad everyone was ok, unhappy about drunk drivers though. I feel like they are in the news every night around here...

It makes me shudder just looking at that picture. You are so blessed and I know you already know that!
