Conversations with a wise 4-year old

Just before heading out of town, I spent some extra snuggle time with my favorite boy.

And because I'm missing him right now, here's me *sighing* at him...

It was a naptime that ended with a distraught little boy who crawled into my lap.  Here's our conversation:


Aww honey, what's the matter?

(sad face)  There was a big bridge.

What big bridge?

A really big bridge.  And you dropped me.

I dropped you?!?

Yeah, you dropped me into the water.  And it was really deep.

Oh honey, I never dropped you.  I would never drop you.  Did you have a yucky dream?

Yeah.  My had a yucky dream (another sad face).

Oh butter, I'm so sorry!

And a big fish came and got me!

Oh no, mommy would never let that happen!

It had a big thing on his nose, a whale, and it got me!

Honey, if you are having a bad dream - in your mind you can pray and Jesus will help you.

Jesus will help me?

Yes!  Jesus is bigger than any scary thing.  Jesus will spank that fishy's butt.


(pause)


Mommy?

Yes honey?


Fish don't have butts.
