True Story Tuesday - Welcome to the Family

True Story Tuesday!  It’s time for the Linky game of sharing your amazing, hilarious, miraculous, outrageous and (mostly) true stories that have happened to you!

See that button on the right sidebar that looks like this:

If you’d like to play along, just copy and paste the code under that button, somewhere into your post, then come back and link up below for some comment love!

This week brought to you by the girl who doesn’t understand why people say, “So THAT’S where you get it”, whenever they meet the rest of her family…?

So you all know May-May, right?  She’s my niece who has earned every bit of adoration that her aunt heaps on her.

She’s the serious one in the family.

But this story isn’t about our shy and reserved little May-May… it just happened to take place on her birthday, along with my mother’s birthday celebration…

Remember, everyone was having a blast?

It was going swimmingly until May-May decided to ensure she’d have her cake all to herself…

But I digress… the REAL true story entertainment was the fact that my family is so classy in the gifts we give eachother.

See how pleased my mother looks?

The card she received on her birthday really drives home why everyone immediately feels like family around us.  Because we do our best to make others feel welcome.

And just in case you can’t see that card well?

You’re welcome.

Like I said, we’re classy, but we make you feel welcome.

And somehow, those boogers didn’t seem to deter a certain 4-year old.

Your turn!  Your family ever have a memorable moment that makes you cringe?  Or makes you laugh out loud?  Or possibly even threatens your bladder control?  Do share!  Link up below and we’ll be by with some comment love!

Yay! I'm first!

And I hate it when people poop while I'm talking to them.

Oh man, I would totally buy that card! That is the kind of thing we buy in this family too. Awesome. I love May May's looks in the shots too. So expressive. So, ask Itty Bit if the booger cake was good.

Love it! I try to find the most ridiculous card I can for my brother's birthday. I also thought our family was fun.... but I now want to be part of your family. Adopt me?

I love May-May's curls!! And you know, all those expressions she has? I bet she got them from her auntie!!!

Ah, for boys... booger only enhances the flavor! :)

The card... love it!!! Thats exactly the kind of thing I would give my family! My mother once got a card at a birthday dinner (spaghetti factory, I believe it was) and when she opened it, it made this loud obnoxious farting noise. It made her jump, and she got some looks from other patrons! :)

LOL I LOVE cards like that. That's mainly what I buy. The sappy ones put me to sleep.

That's the kind of card we buy in MY family too! I love giving them and I love getting them! Four kids, thirteen grandkids, and they all try to outdo each other with the cards. It's crazy fun just like in your family!
May May's pout is the cutest! I'm assuming calling her "the serious one" was tongue-in-cheek. I can imagine what a pair she and Itty Bit must be when they're together.....
Congratulations, May May. You are the one who officially killed my craving for cake this week. Thank you.

I remember dating a neat freak who melted my heart when I took him to my best friend's son's birthday party. A table full of five year olds all helped blow out the candles, and he gamely ate a piece.

We all know how five year olds blow out candles, right?

Love that card LOL! Yes, my family is Klassy, too. I remember dating and warning the boys about my family. They generally always ended up embarassed, though. Poor guys didn't know what they were in for LOL!
