It’s been a heartbreakingly difficult past week. But also a beautiful one.
Funny how your priorities get an automatic realignment when cancer enters your world.
And even though I don’t feel lighthearted, I know that this blog keeps me sane at times and we all need some moments to smile.
So along with my assorted kitchen and laundry tasks, my husband has sweet talked me into an additional wifely duty.
(no worries, the blog is still PG rated)
He took a silly photo of me that totally qualifies for this week’s I Heart Faces theme, but the man just won’t write his own intro (“would be tooting my own horn”)
So in a far MORE awkward scenario… I get to talk about a picture he took of me…
ha!
Do you see it?
The theme is WIND. And I am one of those girls who thinks that the ensuing mass of tangles is utterly worth standing in the path of a great gust of wind.
(I was lifted off the ground by the wind in my umbrella in Seattle one day – true story.)
This picture perfectly captures living in the Pacific Northwest.
The amazing GREEN everywhere.
The gorgeous lakes.
The prerequisite cup of Starbucks.
The moody storm clouds behind me.
And of course,
that delightful wind coming off the water that was totally destroying my hair.
Bonus points for finding that one gray hair that my husband managed to capture.
Extra bonus points for not mentioning the eleven more I found since I typed that.
Gust on over to I Heart Faces for more windy entries!
And please keep Mr. Daddy’s mom in your prayers… we still believe in miracles.

You forgot to mention how cute and darling you look in the picture!
Wishing the best for Mr. Daddy's mom!!
GREAT shot of you. I love it. Now, excuse me while I go dye my eleventy thousand gray hairs...
I love this! I love your expression and how you've summed up everything in the photo to represent where you live! Also to let you know, that at the age of 29.. I've started finding a few of those grays that have just burst my bubble about getting old :)
Your gorgeous Rach!
I love this! Perfect wind shot and you look great!
That is a beautiful shot!!! And girl, you EARNED those gray hairs (that I did not find..lol)!!! Those are badges of honor ;)
Knee mail continues for Mr Daddy's Momma and all y'all.
Rach you are so very beautiful
I certainly heart your lovely face
Mr Daddy's mom is very much in my prayers and thoughts- I am sending you both so many hugs and positve vibes
That's a great picture!! I love the one strand of curls just hanging out in the air on the side!
I see two grey hairs. Kidding kidding, its really hard to tell where it is.
The wind in Seattle can definitely be fierce! You have the perfect curls for it-- I wish I had curly hair on windy days. Straight hair doesn't look quiet the same mussled up as curly hair.
I love that picture! I agree, straight hair just looks BAD blowing in the wind, masses of curls looks gorgeous. Praying for y'all, it's been a stressful week (and probably will be) for me too. Draaaammmmaaaaa... :P
That's a wonderful picture of you. Very flattering! And for the record, I did not notice the gray hairs.
For real...I don't even know you, but girl that is a freaking CUTE picture!! I love Seattle!!
I didn't see any grays. :)
Thoughts to your family. Always believe in miracles.
1. I don't see any grays. I think Mr. D's eyesight is going.
2. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous, wind or no wind.
3. LOVE that you are rocking the coffee, Snort Sister!
4. We are continuing to pray for your mama-in-love - believing in miracles with you!
Beautiful woman! I hope the city does something to the poor building behind you. It has been vacant for YEARS... :(
Did you go to Waterstreet Grill?
The only thing that would make that picture really perfect, is you sitting on Jesse mare with her enjoying the wind just as much. I betcha Mr. Daddy could get really big bucks for that! As for me, you may totally have my share of the wind.
We are all hanging in there for Mr. Daddy's mom.
Juanita
You are beautiful. I miss the NW west so much, but I'm pretty sure I've told you that before. Aaaaaaaaaaah the beauty up there. Texas is pretty right now, but already it's way too hot. It gets so hot in the summer time you'd rather be dead than walk outside, much less go anywhere. So we put on The Earth dvd's and marvel about how pretty other places are. (Just kidding, we don't. We just whine and complain and take lots of showers.)
Great shot! Love the wind in the hair and love your smirk - and celebrate the grays, that's what my mom says! I found one last week at 23! Hoping it's just a really blonde hair (which is unlikely since I am a brunette!)
Have a great week!
OMGoodness, I ♥ you. And I see NO grey. None. And ya know what? I say, color it pink. ;) HAHAHAHA
I LOVE this picture of you, my friend! :D I LOVE it!
And I'll be praying....:(
Love this picture. You are rocking the wind theme. Mr. Daddy did goooood! And nope, I looked I couldn't find a single gray hair.
Still praying for you mom in law.
Mr. Daddy did well, very well! You look amazing, wind-tossed hair and all! I LOVE it. =)
Keeping your family in my prayers.
Love this picture of you! Love, love, love!
Lots of prayers still coming your way dear! I believe in miracles too :-)
You are so cute! I love the picture!
Oh I love this photo. It is so you Rach! Gorgeous shot Mr Daddy! Of course you all are still in my prayers and thoughts all the time. God is still in the miracle business and how lucky we are to KNOW HIM!!
That's a wonderful shot! I don't see a gray hair!
I just want to hug you! I'm so behind on blogs, and I'm sorry I didn't know about your MIL, although I did read the previous post before. I'm praying for peace and comefort for all. Also, you're beautiful.
You are so beautiful!!!!!! Great picture.
I am so far behind...prayers always!
That is a great picture of you, Rachel! Oh and I do not see ONE gray hair on your pretty head. Pretty sure you were just imagining that. :)
beautifully northwest../beautifully full of wind. and wonderfully holding a flash of your life forever! Nice job!
