Birthdays - cuz we're random like that...

I would have said, “cuz that’s how we roll”, but sometimes that phrase makes my eye twitch.

But really… no one does goofy birthdays like our family.

In one random bit of trivia, my sister and I are two weeks (and a few years) apart… and we switched birthdays.  I was born a couple of weeks late, she was born a couple of weeks early.

(And I wonder why she’s Mom’s favorite?)

Hence, we have experienced the oft-bemoaned SHARED BIRTHDAY.

But this year?  We had a blast sharing it.

We started off the day with Mr. Daddy taking kiddie duty so Mom could whisk us away to lunch.  And I’d show you pictures, except that I couldn’t keep my hands off my food long enough to snap one.  Anyone have a recipe for tacos el pastor?  (I’m not kidding, not even a little bit)

We hit the clearance racks.  Seriously?  $14.99, originally $69.50?  Happy Girl!

Then… we went BOWLING!  We took the kids and they had a BLAST.  Some grown up may or may not have complained about the automatic bumpers that lifted when it was their turn.  UGH.

That, my friends… is the face of a woman who nearly got her butt kicked at bowling by her 4-year-old who was playing for the very first time.

Alas, he literally got his BUTT handed to him when he stepped out too far…

He broke the cardinal rule of not stepping on the slippery stuff.  And promptly paid for it with a spectacular crash to his cute little tush.

Therefore no one looked at my score.

I did not break 100.

Pizza and cake would have to console me.

The combined candles for these two ancient chicks generated some darn impressive smoke signals.

(I love my Mom’s lack of confidence in our lung power :)

But the best part?  Did you forget about the “random” thing?

Whilst trying to figure out just how much taller that young cousin of mine was… I stood behind him for the official “eyeball it” test.

And in doing so, this lovely image was captured:

Business in the front, party in the back.  Classic.

And we all know that my sister changes her hairstyle frequently:

Is YOUR grandmother this fun?

The real treat, was in seeing the surprises on my memory card after my camera was picked up by random people…

(Warning – cute camera straps, will cause people to be unable to resist snapping a few shots…)

I think my sis is really taking it to heart:  You have to grow older, growing up is optional :)

Love you Junebug – Happiest Birthday!

(See, didn’t I tell you we are the best kind of random?  And if you haven’t entered the super cute camera strap/keychain wristlet giveaway yet… head on over and get your chances in!)

Happy Birthday to both of you! I love that you can hardly see the cake for all the candles, and the pictures at the end are PRICELESS!

Oh. My. Goodness!!!!!!!! The mullet pictures are HILARIOUS! Your birthdays being so close sounds like it would have been so annoying as a kid in selfish kid sort of way (or maybe that's just me?), but SO much fun as an adult... that is cool. :-)

I hear ya on the bowling score. The only time I've scored "close" to 100 was when I was pregnant, which is really really weird, because who gets better at bowling when they're pregnant, especially when they can't break 60 best case scenario without being pregnant? Apparently me, and my husband's explanation for this is that I only bowl well when I have his child in my womb... because he is an excellent bowler. Weird.

Cannot be real. My sister and I are two weeks apart and a couple years lol. Also switched due dates, I was born on her due date and she was born on mine. Umm, really are we so much alike.
I love all of the photos and was confused about the cousin pic for a minute haha, I totally thought you guys had us beat in redneckness. Yes I just made that up ;)

Shared birthdays can really be a lot of fun! My granddaughter, son-in-law and I all share ours in the month of March. We hadn't really tried adding all our candles together - mostly 'cause just mine would set the place on fire. Happy B-Day to both of you!

My oldest sister and I are 11 months apart because my debut was six weeks early, so every year she reminds me on my birthday that we are the same age, and I have to wait two weeks before I can remind her that she is older than me. She and I often had shared birthday parties when we were kids. Wish we lived close enough to do that now. We have the same kind of silly, fun family.
Happy Birthday to you and your sis!

Belated birthday greetings to you and your sis!! I really love that your mom tried to help blow out the candles. ;p She could, after all, pass herself off as the third sister!
