In the I’m Not Even Kidding category… which often accompanies the Shopping with Kids category…
Getting groceries at Kroger.
Wincing as I realize I have 25 items in the 12 item lane.
Itty Bit playing with the debit card swipe thingie.
I glance behind us and mentally brace myself for the trainwreck that is about to happen.
Itty Bit peeking around me.
(holding breath… shooting warning flares out of my eyes)
Momma?
No honey. No.
Momma?
No honey, not right now.
But MOMMA!
Honey, later. Not now.
MOMMMMMMYYYYYY
Honey, wait a minute. Don’t talk.
.
.
.
.
So my obedient son did just that.
Instead of talking… he looked around me again and began signing.
Except… that some signs are just patently obvious.
Like when your 5-year old points behind you, then circles his finger upward around the top of his head like he’s a Dairy Queen dipped cone.
I couldn’t bring myself to look at the man behind us. I was mort-i-fied.
(frantically grabbing his hands)
Honey no! Later!
But Mommy!
Later!
He lasted all of two steps away.
Then he turned on his loudspeaker voice and made a grand announcement.
But Mommy! He looks like a Wise Man!
~
So that’s my story behind the mugshot. At least for today!
Got an idea of what other trouble he’s been up to? Head on over to the giveaway post and leave your tales for unlimited chances to win!
I’m already LMEO (laughing my elbutt off) at the comments there… and take a look at what our very own PamD put together! By golly, I think she busted the criminal of the century!
(I have no idea where that “by golly” came from… apologies).

Well, he's right. He does look like a wise man! :)
Oh my god - too funny! I got myself in trouble signing obvious signs in public, about people when I was a kid!
Hahahaa.... love the sign! Lawd. I remember when my boy was maybe 3 or 4 and we were at the grocery, and all of the sudden he squealed and said "LOOK MOMMY! A COWBOY!!!!" The sweet lady in her Sunday hat was so gracious... thankfully. No mug shot needed. Gotta love our boys and their big imaginations!
Oh my Lordy. That is awesome. I love kids and yours is especially wonderful. PamD's post had me rolling.
Subtlety is not his specialty! OMG!!!! Hilarious!
I thought he was signing *crazy*! Wise man is significantly better! :)
I am still hoping that I can talk some of my *classic* bloggie friends into adding my Tigger blog to your readers. It’s much of what I used to write on Beth: A Work in Progress that people responded to well. I am making a disciplined effort to search out blessings and joy every day and post about them on Looking for Tigger. Plus I write a little about something that God has spoken to my heart that day. If I could subscribe for you I would totally do it because I really think you would love that little blog. But I can’t. So … I’m going to ask (again) please come visit me at http://www.lookingfortigger.com and subscribe! I’m really trying to grow that little corner of the blog-o-sphere and I need some support from my friends! Thank you!
bahahahaha!
Now that is a good Proud Mommy Moment. Too funny! Why are kids so good at the speaker voice? Thanks so much for linking up
Well in all fairness.... *grin*
Whoa. 113 comments? I've NEVER had that many. I need your friends.
Kids have no filter. I love to hear stories like this but would be mortified if it ever happened to me.
LOVE the mugshot!! That is definitely PROUD MOMMY worthy!!
xoxo
Oh my goodness. He is SO darn funny!! Buddy does a lot of that as well, no matter how many times I tell him not to point anything out about a person until we are in private.
My niece once told an old boyfriend of mine that he has yellow teeth. Kids = no filter. LOL
Thanks for linking up!
