When I shake a soldier's hand and say "Thank you for the sacrifices you make for me", I know that I'm experiencing a small measure of what it will be like to one day stand in front of Jesus. Same goes for other public servants who put their life on the line.. police and fire in particular. I believe that basic human nature tends towards being selfish; to willingly put yourself in the line of fire for people you have no investment in just amazes me.
And Mr. Daddy.. thanks so much for your comments on my posts. I tried to switch everything over to the wordpress blog, but only a few folks really followed me over there, so I guess I'll have to just do photos there and "real" posts at my old blog. Which is a lot of work. But, if it keeps you guys from losing touch, then it's worth it... :<)

This gives me chills every time I read it. Thank you so much for this reminder. For years now, an overpass not far from my home is decorated with American flags and flags representing the various branches of military service, along with a banner that states "Land of the free...because of our brave." I'm so thankful for those men & women, our brave.
